The Kelowna Ramada is a great hotel with such features as a Perkins Restaurant and Mickie’s Pub, a cold beer and wine store, an easily accessible workout center

Unfortunately, they have only one room that is fully accessible (#107). But on the positive side to this, is that the room has an adjoining room (#109) where family or a support worker can stay. The accessible room has a wide open spacious layout and can be accessed from either the hallway door or via the parking lot at the back of the hotel, where you can find plenty of wheelchair accessible parking.

I was quite impressed with the bathrooms,

which is 7’4 X 10’2 and the door width is a good 36″ wide, which is wide enough for a standard manual wheelchair. A power chair may be able to fit in the bathroom, but it would be a bit cramped. The bathroom comes with a tub and shower

that can accommodate a standard shower bench and has a telephone shower hose for easy of use.

The bed is a bit high to get into at 28″ from floor to top of the mattress so you some people might need some assistance when transferring onto the bed. But once you are on the bed it is remarkably comfortable

The one thing i always look for when going into a hotel room is ‘where is a curtain rod’ only to find it behind the couch, against the back wall, making it impossible to reach? Luckily, the one in room #108  is out of the way  of the way of any barriers that would prevent you from closing the blinds yourself.
